symptoms
The problem
“Something is off and nobody can tell us what to fix first.”
Conversion, speed, SEO, and tracking problems all present as the same symptom: revenue below what traffic says it should be. Guessing at the cause burns months.
“Every audit we have requested turned into a sales pitch.”
A ranked list of what is broken is useful. A slide deck that concludes you should buy the retainer, whatever the findings, is not an audit.
“We added an app for everything and the store got slower.”
Each app made sense alone. Together they duplicate scripts, fight over the cart, and quietly tax every page load you pay traffic to reach.
deliverables
What the audit examines
Five systems, one written report, fixes ranked by expected revenue impact.
Conversion walkthrough
Product page, cart, and checkout reviewed against what actually moves order rate: information order, trust content, friction, and payment options.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Field data on the templates that earn money, not lab scores on the homepage. App scripts and image pipelines are usually where the time goes.
SEO foundation check
Indexing, canonicals, site structure, and whether the pages that should rank are even eligible to. The the artisan BBQ brand audit found a sitemap that was not being read at all.
Tracking integrity
Whether analytics and pixels report reality. Broken tracking quietly corrupts every marketing decision made downstream of it.
App stack review
What each app costs, what it conflicts with, and which ones native Shopify features have made redundant since they were installed.
Written report, ranked by impact
Findings in plain language with the reasoning shown, ordered by expected revenue effect, with what to fix first and what to ignore. Yours to keep either way.
when_the_audit_says_replatform
Sometimes the honest finding is that the platform is the problem
Most audits produce a fix list you can work through on the store you already have. Occasionally the ranked list keeps pointing at the same root cause, and the recommendation is to move. When that happens we say so, and we schedule the move well clear of your peak season.

Shopify Store Audit FAQs
What does a Shopify store audit examine?
Five systems: conversion on the pages that carry revenue, speed measured on real user data, SEO foundations like indexing and canonicals, tracking integrity, and the app stack. The finding that matters is almost never one dramatic problem. It is the ranked list, because fixing the third most important thing first is how stores spend a quarter improving nothing.
What do we actually receive?
A written report in plain language: what we found, why it matters, what to fix in what order, and what to leave alone. Findings are ranked by expected revenue impact, with the reasoning shown rather than asserted. It is yours to keep and act on with any team, including your own.
What access do you need, and is our data safe?
A read-only collaborator account on Shopify, plus view access to Google Analytics and Search Console if you want the tracking and SEO findings to be worth reading. Read-only means we can see how your store is configured and cannot change a single thing. We install nothing, we export no customer data, and you revoke access from your admin in one click whenever you like, including the moment the report lands. If your policy requires an NDA before any access, send yours and we will sign it.
Why is the audit free?
Because it is how we scope honestly. Some audits become projects for us, some become a fix list your own developer handles, and both outcomes are fine. What we will not do is present findings shaped to sell a retainer. The audit stands alone, which is exactly what makes the ones that become projects start on solid ground.
How long does an audit take?
Days, not weeks. We need read-only access to the store admin and analytics, and the review runs on real data rather than a questionnaire. You get the written report and a walkthrough call to go through the ranked list and answer questions.
Are we obligated to hire eSolve afterward?
No. The report is complete without us: findings, priorities, and enough detail for a competent developer to act on. If you want us to do the work, we quote it against a written scope. If not, you still know exactly where your store stands.
Can an audit help before peak season?
It is the highest-leverage time to run one. One artisan BBQ brand came to us three months before Christmas with analytics not firing, an unindexed sitemap, and 0.2 percent conversion. The audit findings became the migration and conversion plan that produced a 7x conversion lift and 220 percent more Q4 revenue. The earlier before peak the audit runs, the more of the list gets fixed while it still counts.
